Welcome to the Long Buckby AFC official web site.
So thats it as far as the UCL Prem seasons concerned. The Bucks finished
on 81 points which is the highest recorded in our UCL history: higher even
than the ponts recorded when we finished 2nd in the eighties.
Blackstones lost at St.Ives which meant that we finished in 2nd place.
A fuller report of the season will follow.
The annual presentation evening was held in the club house last saturday
(3rd May) which was well attended and hosted by Secretary Dave Austin.
Chairman Guy Loveland presented the trophies.
In his speech Manger Glen Botterill thanked the players and supporters
and all who had helped in making the season so memorable.
The 1st team managers award went to Richard Bunting while the players player
went to Stuart Smeathers who also claimed the award for attaining the most
'Man of the Match' acclaims (8) from the match reports on the web site. The
player of the season voted by supporters went to Ben Foster.
Ravensthorpe-Long Buckby managers award went to Ashley Brown while there
players player was Delaney Fifield, both trophies presented by manager
Rob Jones.
Clubman of the year went to Jim Threadgold mainly for his stirling work on
the pitch.
