NEXT GAME:Tues 21 Feb - 1st Team v Newport Pagnell Town at home CANCELLED due to CONTINUING FLOODLIGHT FAULT
This was a welcome game for both sides following the 'mini winter break'. The Bucks came away with the
three points to close the gap on league leaders Kings Lynn but we now face an horrendous fixture pile up with the failure of
one of the floodlight poles, where only three of the 6 lamps are working, threatening to severly disrupt the clubs ambitions.
Unless the spares arrive on Monday, Tuesday's game against Newport is in doubt.
Some of the supporters are getting together to form a floodlight upgrading fund and this is very welcome to the club in these
difficult times.

Sat Feb 18 2012 UCL Premier Division LONG BUCKBY 3 v AFC Kempston Rovers 1 at Long Buckby KO 2.30
Scorers:-Long Buckby: Rus Dunkley(19,61),Rob Foster(52). Afc Kempston: Andrew Phillips(4)
The last time Kempston visited Station Road was in season 2007/2008 when they were taken to the cleaners
after a 7-0 drubbing which eventually led to their relegation.
This season they have come back as Division 1 Champions and the team today in no way reflects the previous regime. In fact they
started the better and took the lead when Andrew Phillips hit an unstoppable shot into the top corner of Darren Watts net to
give the visitors an unlikely lead in their first attack of the game on 4 minutes.
Martin Conway in the Kempston goal was in for a very busy afternoon as the home team took the game to their opponents in response
to the early shock and Dunkley, Koriya and Ling kept the keeper on his toes.
Buckby equalised on 19 minutes when following a foul on Dunkley, his free kick was tipped over by Conway, from the resulting
corner, a Greg Ling shot was deflected off Dunkley to draw the home team level. The home team continued the pressure but despite
great work from Ling, Koriya and Quigley the teams went in level at half time 1-1.
The home team knew they had to up their game in the second half and in true style this is what they did, the visitors defence
was in total disarray as attack upon attack eventually lead to Buckby taking the lead on 52 minutes when a great cross from
Koriya was headed goal wards by Dunkley that was parried by the keeper and Rob Foster put the ball into the net.
On 61 minutes the home side increased the lead when a Rob Foster shot hit the bar, Greg Ling followed up and his header was
saved but Russell Dunkley was on hand to get his second of the afternoon.
Josh Davis came on for Rob Foster on 65 minutes and that resulted in a re-shuffle with Davis on the right and Koriya playing
through the middle, Koriya picked up a knock and was replaced by David Glass on 75 minute and his first touch almost resulted
in a goal as the keeper saved well pushing the ball away for a corner.
Buckby made the final change of the afternoon when Craig Kelly replaced Jack Ashton on 83 minutes and as usual he created havoc
for the visitors and gave Russell Dunkley the opportunity to get a hat trick but he was a shoe lace away from connecting to put
the gloss on the second half performance.
With Kings Lynn on KO Cup duty this gave Buckby the chance to claw back a few points on the way towards a tremendous finale to
the season, let’s hope the weather holds.
